Simon Collier (1938-2003) fue profesor de Historia en la Valderbilt University. Es autor de numerosos libros y artículos sobre la historia de Latinoamérica como Tango!: The Dance, the Song, the Story (1997) y Chile: The Making of a Republic, 1830-1865 (2003).
